

It remains a mystery which Marvel character Gavankar could be playing in Skydance New Media’s untitled Marvel game, but her involvement is exciting news for fans of her past work in Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Her most recent gaming voice role is that of Tanta Sila in the upcoming PlayStation 5 RPG Forespoken, which is set to launch sometime in 2022. Outside of Star Wars, Gavankar is trained as a musician and has lent her voice to games like Far Cry 4, Horizon Zero Dawn’s The Frozen Wilds DLC, and Night School Studio’s 2019 adventure title Afterparty. In Star Wars Battlefront 2, Janina Gavankar performed the voice and motion capture for protagonist Iden Versio, an elite Imperial pilot who defects to the New Republic during the events of Star Wars: Battlefront II’s story campaign. Speaking to followers, Gavankar cheerfully remarked how lucky she is to be a part of Amy Hennig’s upcoming “ narrative-driven, blockbuster action-adventure" Marvel title, though she naturally remained tight-lipped about what role she will be playing or what the game will be about. It’s still no clearer which Marvel character(s) Skydance will adapting in its upcoming game, but a talented voice actress has now teased her role in the project. Skydance New Media’s surprise Marvel announcement in October has naturally left the internet buzzing about which iconic superhero or team is going to get the AAA gaming treatment next, with some even digging up old rumors about a new Daredevil game. Marvel has seen an increase in the scope and quality of its licensed games in recent years, thanks to success stories like Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Manseries and the recently released Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, along with promising future titles like Marvel’s Midnight Suns and Wolverine. Earlier this year, she joined Hollywood studio Skydance to form its new gaming division after working with Dead Space developer Visceral Games on an ultimately canceled Star Wars game. This so-far unrevealed Marvel game will be helmed by former Uncharted director-writer Amy Hennig.
